An Appeal to "Bring Sandra Collins Home" by the Collins family.

This Friday 4th December 2020 marks the 20th Anniversary of the murder of our sister, Sandra , in Kilalla, County Mayo. Her remains are yet to be located and we are making a very specific appeal this year.

Our Mum & Dad have died since Sandra vanished . They agonised on their deathbeds on the fate of Sandra but were resolute that we should keep looking for her. 

It was especially traumatic for Mum. Six months before Sandra vanished we lost our brother James in a tragic factory accident. James (26) had got trapped in an industrial machine and the attending doctor and fire brigade had to amputate his leg to free him. He had died of blood loss before he reached hospital. The double tragedy severely affected Mum. We remember her standing at the window in the early hours, looking out into darkness hoping Sandra would walk up the garden path. She tried ( but failed) to hide her distress from us and a short time later succumbed to cancer, dying 2 years after Sandra vanished.

Our Dad, Joe died in 2016. He was our matriarch --kept us all going, was deeply devoted to us. He was very determined that we never give up on finding Sandra and to put her in the grave beside him and Mum. We miss him beyond words.

At times , Bridie, Mary , Davy and myself can be emotionally drained and succumb to tears at the memory of our kind , loving sister Sandra. As a family we are close knit and very determined in our aims to find Sandra.

Our Gofundme is launched this Friday the 4th of December and we would really appreciate your support. 

We have the heartfelt good wishes and support of An Garda in Ballina with this initiative. We are very grateful for their continued efforts to locate Sandra's body. 

The purpose of the fund are two fold.

1. A reward to the person with information that leads to the discovery of Sandra's remains.

2. Raised funds will be used , if necessary, in collaboration with An Garda for outside expertise in UK & USA that will be of assistance to their investigation.

 Finally, we are optimistic our new community initiative may well lead to Sandra's remains and could be of vital benefit to other missing persons that have vanished without trace.
