Sam Smith, a beloved son, father, brother, friend, coach, and mentor, was violently detained by ICE on 10/20/2025 outside of his home, his two-year-old son just feet away. Sam was seized with no warrant and sustained injuries for which he has been denied medical treatment. His human and constitutional rights were egregiously violated. Sam is currently in ICE custody and is facing deportation.

Sam is a permanent resident green card holder for the last 18 years. He is an upstanding member of his community, grounded in faith, and deeply committed to empowering the youth. His dedication and advocacy have helped inspire countless families. Sam never fails to use his voice to help others.
