In September last year, our Cinergi family changed forever.

Our friend and colleague Sam suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and has spent the last several months fighting through an unimaginable journey of surgeries, complications and specialist rehabilitation.

More recently, Sam was diagnosed with a Prolonged Disorder of Consciousness (PDoC) and transferred to a specialist neuro-rehabilitation centre, where doctors and therapists continue to assess and support his recovery. While there is still a long road ahead, Sam continues to show incredible strength every single day.

Sam joined Cinergi as an apprentice and quickly became a hugely valued part of the team. Through hard work, determination and his natural ability with people, he completed his apprenticeship with us and grew into an incredibly skilled and respected engineer.

Anyone who has worked with Sam knows exactly the sort of person he is. He’s the first to help someone out, the one who keeps everyone laughing on site, and the friendly face customers instantly warm to. He takes huge pride in his work, cares deeply about the people around him, and is genuinely one of the nicest lads you could meet.

Sam is massively missed by everyone at Cinergi, both as a colleague and as a friend. The workplace simply isn’t the same without his laughter, his positivity and the way he always looks out for the people around him. As a team, we all want to do everything we can to support Sam and his family through this incredibly difficult time, and to help give him the very best possible chance on his road to recovery.

To help support Sam and his family, the Cinergi team will be taking on the Three Peaks Challenge to raise money towards the specialist equipment, rehabilitation support, and home adaptations needed to help bring Sam closer to home and give him the best possible support moving forward.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a genuine difference to Sam and his family during an incredibly difficult time.
