Bring Safe Water Back to Yanuya Children

Without access to safe water, people and communities face the risk of disease, malnutrition, and environmental degradation, making clean water one of the most fundamental resources for sustaining life.

In 2011, the clean water non-profit ClearBlue Global Water Project graciously funded a borehole in the remote South Pacific on Yanuya Island, Fiji. Two years later, another non-profit, It's Time, kindly donated money to replace the diesel power with solar power, enabling the village to buy desperately needed educational resources rather than gasoline.

When the last cyclone hit in 2023, it damaged these solar panels, but the school managed to buy a generator to power their borehole pump.

Sadly, at the beginning of 2025, the borehole pump, which once provided this community with safe water, broke. Without a new pump, the children cannot attend school or focus on their education.

By donating, you’re not just helping to fix a pump—you’re giving children the chance to go to school, stay healthy, and build a brighter future.

The cost of the new borehole pump is quoted at $4,000 Fijian dollars ($1,724 American dollars) and the school doesn't have the resources to cover it. Your generosity can make all the difference for these young lives.

Money raised will be sent to the general manager at a nearby resort (Tokoriki) who helps monitor the village and their needs -- and whom my husband and I have stayed in contact with throughout the past 14 years.
