A week ago, Rusty had a low fall while sitting in his chair in his backyard. He was conscious and could not move. He was transported to Queen's Hospital by Ambulance. After a further medical evaluation, tests showed that Rusty had an upper cervical spine injury. Once the surgery was performed, it showed he had an underlying possible trauma cervical injury from earlier in his life, perhaps decades ago. At this time, Rusty cannot move any part of his body below his neck and remains hospitalized with assisted breathing.

Rusty's wife and children have given me permission to post this Go Gund Me on their behalf. I am asking that we, as family, friends, co-workers, teammates, and classmates, help to bring Rusty home. At this point, Queens Hospital has referred Rusty to Craig Hospital in Colorado; they specialize in these types of injuries and with dependent (at least for now) patients on a ventilator. With that being said, Should he get accepted to Craig Hospital, He will need to be transported by Air Ambulance, which is not covered by insurance? Depending on assisted levels of care at the time of transport, costs will range from $50,000- $100,000 for air transport. The monthly cost could also range from $50-$80,000 per month.
