Rodrigo Tamayo is a caring, honest, loving father has been held at Bluebonnet Detention Facility since December. His wife, a U.S. citizen, is urgently raising bond money to bring him back her and their one-year-old daughter.

On December 23rd, 2025 Rodrigo and his wife were out running errands and shopping for their baby's nursery when they were pulled over. The officer fined Rodrigo's wife and threatened to call immigration if they did not answer his questions. Rodrigo had a valid tourist visa yet was taken into custody and later transported to an ICE facility.

They were in the U.S. because his wife was pregnant. As a U.S. citizen, she qualified for coverage here. Rodrigo applied for and received a valid tourist visa. The plan was always to come and return home. What ended up happening is she nearly bled out after their daughter's birth and needed emergency surgery. Just two weeks later, while she was still recovering, Rodrigo was hospitalized with hemolytic anemia. He spent a week in the hospital and was told he would need chemotherapy to prevent it from becoming cancer.

After everything this family has been through they have been overwhelmed by expenses and are in need of support to meet their goal. Help us raise the bond funds and reunite this family.

El 23 de diciembre del 2025, Rodrigo y su esposa estaban haciendo mandados y comprando decoración para el cuarto de su bebé cuando los paró un policía. Ese oficial ya le había puesto una multa a la esposa de Rodrigo y los amenazó con llamar a migración si no le contestaban bien las preguntas.

Estaban en Estados Unidos porque la esposa de Rodrigo estaba embarazada. Como ella es ciudadana americana, sí podía recibir cobertura aquí. Rodrigo pidió su visa de turista y se la dieron. Siempre tuvieron el plan de venir y regresarse. Lo que pasó fue que ella casi se desangra después del parto y tuvieron que operarla de emergencia. Apenas dos semanas después, cuando ella todavía se estaba recuperando, a Rodrigo lo internaron por anemia hemolítica. Estuvo una semana en el hospital y le dijeron que necesitaría quimioterapias para evitar que se volviera cáncer.
