On July 22nd, my daughter, son-in-law, 7 grandkids ages 3-18 experienced a horrible sewage back up causing their basement bathroom and basement to flood and reek of sewage. Every time the water is turned on, the toilet is flushed, or the washing machine is used, the problem persists. They contacted a plumbing company the next morning to have a technician come out and do a main line drain cleaning, which also came with a camera inspection.

After the camera inspection, the technician informed them that the lines were either clogged by tree roots or collapsed because the camera went dark during the inspection after 75ft. The first estimate they were given was $9,900-$10,000 because the location of the damaged pipe is 9ft deep. The problem continues to get worse and with each plumber that was called, they required a main line cleaning and camera inspection, which increased in prices with the different companies. The quotes ranged from $9000-$11000.

The basement currently has mold, mildew on walls and baseboards due to the sewage backup. The smell is strong and over whelming everyday they use tons of cleaning products to rid the smell and sanitize the basement as they clean. Their funds are limited because my son inlaw is currently out of work from not having a vehicle at this time. They were in the process of saving for a vehicle when this expensive crisis happened. Any help will be greatly appreciated and used to replace the sewer line pipe, remove the flooring/walls in the basement and have a mold experiment come in and clean.
