Bring Rebekah Home: Support Our Legal Battle

Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this.
My name is Brianna Pelligrinelli, and I am here fighting for my little sister, Rebekah Brown.
Rebekah is a 24-year-old with significant disabilities who has lived at home with our mother her entire life. She is a happy, gentle soul—always smiling, always surrounded by love, and deeply bonded to her family and her home.
In March of 2025, our mother voluntarily granted guardianship of Rebekah to a public guardian, believing it would provide additional support. At the time, we had believed that the guardian’s role would be assisting with paperwork, appointments, and services—and that Rebekah would remain living at home, where she has always been safe and loved.
On Monday, December 10th, everything changed.
Our mother received a phone call from the guardian stating that she intended to remove Rebekah from her home and place her with a couple in Concord. Little explanation was given. No meaningful conversation took place. No alternatives were discussed. No family members were allowed to step in and assume care.
The guardian has met Rebekah only a handful of times and has never once visited her home. We were given no opportunity to address concerns, make adjustments, or advocate for changes before this devastating and abrupt removal.
Rebekah has epilepsy and suffers from stress-induced seizures. She is unable to care for herself and has no established bond with the people she was placed with. Even more frightening, this family was not informed that her seizures were still happening, and had no prior training or experience in managing it. They have only provided short-term respite care.
We immediately filed a motion with the court. Unfortunately, due to court delays, our hearing is still three weeks away. Rebekah was taken on Monday the 5th.
She is confused. She is scared.
And she keeps saying she wants to go home.

Every dollar we had has gone toward legal fees, travel back and forth to Concord to see Rebekah, and trips to Lebanon to meet with our attorney. We are now completely out of funds—unable to continue paying our lawyer, and struggling just to keep up with basic bills.
We are coming here desperate, fighting to bring Rebekah home where she belongs and to continue this legal battle on her behalf. Money is incredibly tight, especially after the holidays, and we are asking for help we never imagined we would need.
Any amount—no matter how small—means more than we can put into words.
And if you cannot give, please pray for our family.
Thank you for standing with us in this fight.
