Hello, my name is Valeriia. I’m Ukrainian passionate traveler, photographer, storyteller and aspiring documentary filmmaker.

I have hitchhiked across more than 30 countries (added some pics from my travels), meeting people from all walks of life - from government officials in Nouakchott, Mauritania to religious gurus in Varanasi, India. I believe that every person is a universe, and every story deserves to be told. My goal is to turn my passion for travel, human stories, and filmmaking into a career, bringing unheard voices to the world. My cherished dream is to do a documentary about the incredible things Ukrainian people have done during the war.

Why I Need Your Support

I have been accepted into the Eight-Week Documentary Filmmaking Course at MetFilm School, one of the most respected film schools in the world. This course will give me the essential skills, mentorship, and industry connections to bring my vision to life.

I can cover my own housing, food, and transportation, but I need help with the tuition fee of £5000.

The Stories That Must Be Told

I love people. Every person carries a unique story, and I want to bring those stories to the world.

I am Ukrainian. I was volunteering next to the front line, up to 5-7 kilometers from active hostilities, I was taking some interviews from the people still living there under constant shelling. Their courage, resilience, and selflessness deserve to be seen by the world.

Some of these people have lost their families

I believe that many people find it easier to cope with loss when the memory of a fallen hero is preserved through documentary filmmaking—when their story is told, and their death is shown to be not in vain.

I want to make documentaries about:

• The incredible bravery of Ukrainian soldiers, volunteers, and civilians. Their sacrifices should never be forgotten.

• The unbreakable women of Iran. No amount of repression can silence their strength.

• The daily lives of people in Afghanistan. The world needs to know their reality.

I’m not afraid to go to the places like this. Some people call it bravery, I call it passion.
