My name is Haley Winchell and I am the mother of Gabi Halverson. I am raising funds in order to be able to cover the legal fees I am incurring trying to get Gabi back her beloved puppy, Pickle. She begged and pleaded with her dad for years to get a dachshund, and on September 4, 2021, she finally got her wish. Her father gave her Pickle as a gift. She was delighted and ecstatic. This was her perfect dream dog. She adored him immediately. Little did we know that her father would pass on from this life a short month and a half later, and Pickle would be the last gift he had given her. Due to an emergency situation and much confusion on the night of his passing on the ownership of Pickle, the dog is not in Gabi's possession. Unfortunately the situation has not yet been resolved, and I have incurred/am incurring legal fees trying to work through the situation. All money donated will go toward legal fees incurred trying to regain custody of Pickle. All donations that exceed legal fees incurred will go to Kiya Koda Humane Society in Indianola, IA. Gabi is a grieving 12-year old with a huge heart for people and animals. She is terrified that she will never see her beloved Pickle again.
