A few short months ago, Paul Downing was enjoying life. He went to the doctor with what he thought was the flu to learn that he had a heart attack and required immediate surgery. Paul survived surgery and spent 3 months in ICU, unable to breathe independtly and remained on a ventilator via tracheotomy.

Unfortunately, Paul's insurance ran out and so the hospital wanted him out. The hospital social worker located a facility that would accept Paul, which unfortunately, is located in San Diego. Paul was flown by ambulance to San Diego where he remained for the last three weeks of his life, alone. The challenge now is to bring Paul home to his family.
