Bring Our Story to the Screen – Support the Film about peace

My name is Naomi, and together with my friends Mattia Romagnoli and Ulysses Martines, each of us in our twenties, are passionately working on a deeply personal project: the film adaptation of my book, Don’t Let Your Coffee Get Cold. It’s a poetic and introspective short movie that explores some of the most profound questions of our time, identity, freedom, and the pursuit of a life lived on our own terms.
This project means so much more to me than just a short movie. It is a heartfelt expression of my soul and, without a doubt, the collective spirit of all of us. Throughout my life, I have always tried my best to put myself in other people’s shoes to truly help others feel seen and heard. I want to remind everyone that sometimes it’s okay to be lost, to feel uncertain or overwhelmed. Although, like everyone else, I am also confronted with my own shadows, I am also afraid and sometimes need support from others. But I know that many hearts around me also want the best for the people they love.
Me and my Team have often felt hopeless and powerless in a world that seems to be spinning out of control. That’s why this project means so much more to us than just a film.
In addition to the short film, I am also creating an art exhibition in Basel during the second weekend of June 2026 in Basel. This exhibition isn’t just about identity, it’s about everything that shapes our lives: the struggles in society, the emotions we rarely talk about because we live in a world where we are expected to be strong. It’s an artistic project created together with other artists, where we share this message through interdisciplinary expressions. The film is just one part of this larger vision.
I have always dreamed of making the world a little bit better. I know this might sound idealistic or even delusional but it’s precisely because of that hope that I’m committed to trying. I want to contribute in the way I know best: through creativity, through art, through stories that speak to the heart. This is my way of reaching out, of connecting, of offering a space for reflection and healing in a chaotic world.
Through this film, we want to tell a story that touches hearts, sparks reflection, and inspires courage to stay true to ourselves, even in a world often shaped by rules and expectations.
Our team is young, driven, and brimming with creativity. We’re not working for money, but out of pure passion and conviction. Each of us pours our talents and our heart into creating something truly special, a movie that is not just watched, but deeply felt.
Yet, to bring this vision to life, we need financial support for the essential equipment and materials. Without this help, it will be difficult to achieve the quality and atmosphere that our story deserves. Your support will empower us to craft a work of art that speaks to today’s world about the search for identity, dreams, freedom, and the life we all wish to shape ourselves.
This message is more relevant now than ever. In a society that often tells us who we should be, we want our film to open a space where authenticity and freedom are celebrated. We want to send a message of courage, connection, and humanity through our work.
With your help, we can make this dream a reality and create something that touches hearts and stays with them long after the screen fades to black.
