Bring our kitchen back

We are Jamie & Lucy and we are Landlords/Owners of West End House in Kirkstall, Leeds.

We are a family friendly pub which serves home cooked food daily.

On the 21st of February we were caught up in a nasty unfortunate freak incident with our main kitchen downstairs. An electrical fault occurred whilst the kitchen was turned off and a fire broke out.

Our kitchen is our bread and butter of the business and we don’t know if it will be covered by our business insurance that is handled by Stonegate.

Since the fire happened, we have lost a lot of custom, stock & hope for this week.

We don’t know how long it will be before we find out the full extent of the damage and if we are able to make a claim, however we are trying and trying to think of ways to keep going. Personally we don’t feel strong enough to post photos just yet due to the nature of what happened.

Due to the loss of our kitchen and the decrease in footfall in the last couple of days we are only just keeping above water.

We are asking purely for donations just for us to be able to offer something small so we aren’t disappointing many more people - bar snacks and sandwiches are a starting point but we have lost so much stock we cannot afford to replace right now.

If anyone would like to donate we would be forever grateful.

We do a lot for the community and we host community events I.e. firework night - but this year that too could be in jeopardy due to this incident.

Thankfully no one was hurt and the pub was evacuated safely.

We want to thank all who have offered support already and volunteered their services - but for now it is out of our hands.
