On Sunday, May 18th, our beloved son Derek was tragically and fatally shot. He was only 32 years old. His life cut short far too soon and without warning. As we face this heartbreaking loss, we are doing our best to pick up the pieces and honor the incredible person he was.

Derek proudly served his country as a United States Marine. After completing his tours, he continued his commitment to serving others as a wildland firefighter. Derek gave 100% to his community, his country, and his loved ones.

Now, we’re asking that same community to support us in our time of need. We are raising funds to bring Derek home to New Mexico and give him the funeral he truly deserves. Your generosity will go directly toward covering the cost of transporting his body and providing a proper farewell.
