Bring our friend Iggy Home

Ignatius Mealoha Soriano (Iggy) was one the kindest most generous men I have ever met. He made everyone he met feel like they were his best friend. When I had known him only a few weeks, I mentioned a casual interest of mine while speaking to a group. He came up to me afterward and said, “I have a book about that, Ill see if I can find it.” Several weeks later, he brought me a gift bag with the book he had mentioned earlier. He could not find his own copy so he purchased one from a used bookstore and gifted it to me. That’s just how Iggy was, constantly giving what he had to others. He learned Spanish and the language of the indigenous people of Baja Mexico so that he could help the poor in the Hispanic communities in both Arizona and Baja Mexico. He took frequent trips to an orphanage in Baja to share his love and talents with them.

On November 3rd, while visiting his grandchildren in Mississippi, Ignatius Mealoha Soriano suffered a major stroke and passed away. His death was sudden and unexpected. Since he spent his life giving to others, his family is struggling to bring his body home to Arizona and set his affairs in order. Please donate to this fund to help his family and widow make the necessary arrangements and assist with his burial.
