Graduation is in less than 2 months!
Jonathan and Yesenia are preparing to graduate with whole-ass degrees from Tufts University, where they’ve spent the past 4 years growing and getting it. Graduation season is an exciting time and we need your help!
Both of us come from big families, which makes graduation, while full of excitement, a financial headache. Jon Jon’s parents and six siblings (count em- SIX!) are traveling from Detroit, and Yesenia’s parents and three siblings are traveling from Milwaukee.
Graduation weekend will be the first time our families are visiting us since we’ve been here (for the past 4 years!!!!) and we want to make the experience as minimally hectic as we reasonably can. Even though we work a combined 43 hours per week this semester, while balancing 12 classes between us, the cash cost of this is impossible.
For this reason, we’re hoping to raise $2,000 to help offset the cost of bringing our families to Boston from the Midwest, which we’re splitting equally. This cash will help our parents travel to and stay in Boston for graduation weekend!

-Yesenia plans to receive her masters and initial teacher licensure in May 2018 at Tufts University.
-Jon Jon plans to pursue graduate studies in African-American Studies and become a professor of Black literature and visual studies.
-We studied abroad during opposite semesters and missed each other dearly.
-Jon Jon and Yesenia share an undying love for Selena.
-We first met in Carmichael while bonding over bananas and Keyshia Cole.
