¡Hola! Somos la familia Simón y Ávila.

El 21 de noviembre, mi papá, Osiel Simón, fue detenido por I.C.E. mientras iba rumbo a su trabajo entre las 5:50 y 6:00 a.m., en la intersección de Kennicott Ave y Dundee Rd, en la gasolinera BP de Arlington Heights, IL.

Como se vio en los videos publicados en redes sociales, también detuvieron a mi mamá, Elia Ávila, pero gracias a Dios fue liberada. Lamentablemente, a mi papá sí se lo llevaron.

Recientemente logramos localizarlo, y actualmente se encuentra en El Paso, Texas.

Mi papá no es un criminal y no hizo nada malo. Nació en Guerrero, México, y tenía solo 21 años cuando llegó a Estados Unidos. Abandonó su país por necesidad, arriesgando su seguridad y dejando atrás a su familia, su hogar y todo lo que conocía. Lo impulsaba la esperanza de encontrar estabilidad y un futuro mejor para él y para los suyos en una tierra de oportunidades y libertad.

A pesar de todos los desafíos, ha trabajado incansablemente para construir una vida aquí y para mantener a mis dos hermanas, de 13 y 21 años, dándoles un techo y asegurando su bienestar.

Mucha gente lo conoce como una persona amable, confiable y trabajadora. Actualmente, mi familia y yo estamos devastados por su ausencia, especialmente porque se acercan los días festivos, momentos en los que la familia suele reunirse para convivir. Ahora será diferente sin su presencia. Amamos a mi padre y lo extrañamos muchísimo.

Cualquier donación, sin importar el tamaño, ayudará a que la familia Simón sienta un poco de seguridad y esperanza durante este momento tan difícil. Cada ayuda realmente marca la diferencia. Si no pueden donar, solo les pedimos que oren por mi papá para que vuelva pronto.

Compartir su historia también es muy valioso, pues nos brinda consuelo saber que otros se preocupan y escuchan lo que estamos viviendo. Hello! We are the Simón and Ávila family.

On November 21st, my dad, Osiel Simón, was detained by I.C.E. while he was on his way to work between 5:50 and 6:00 a.m., at the intersection of Kennicott Ave and Dundee Rd, at the BP gas station in Arlington Heights, IL.

As seen in the videos posted on social media, my mom, Elia Ávila, was also detained, but thank God she was released. Unfortunately, they did take my dad.

We were recently able to locate him, and he is currently being held in El Paso, Texas.

My dad is not a criminal, and he did nothing wrong. He was born in Guerrero, Mexico, and was only 21 years old when he arrived in the United States. He left his country out of necessity, risking his safety and leaving behind his family, his home, and everything he knew. He was driven by the hope of finding stability and a better future for himself and his loved ones in a land of opportunity and freedom.

Despite all the challenges, he has worked tirelessly to build a life here and to support my two sisters, ages 13 and 21, giving them a home and ensuring their well-being.

Many people know him as a kind, trustworthy, and hardworking person. Right now, my family and I are devastated by his absence, especially as the holidays approach—times when families usually come together. This year will be different without him. We love our father and miss him deeply.
