Hello, my name is Luis. I was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, and I have always been proud to call this city my home. On February 25th, while on our way to work, my soon to be Fiancé Oscar was taken by ICE. Oscar has no criminal record, no order of deportation, and no pending court dates or legal proceedings. He has lived here for 24 years and knows nothing about his country of birth. His entire family, friends, and loved ones are here in Charlotte. I believe in keeping our community safe, but I also believe in compassion and human dignity. Oscar deserves the opportunity to fight his case fairly and properly. As many of you know, immigration legal fees are extremely expensive, along with the additional costs that come with this process. It is very hard for me to ask, but I am asking our community to please come together and help us bring Oscar back home so he can await justice the right way.
