Bring Noble Silence to Life: Support Indie film in CenLA
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Victoria Rigby, and I am the writer/director of "Noble Silence" - an original short film based on a true story. My production team and I are super excited to be bringing this project to life, BUT we cannot do it without your help! This project is so close to my heart, and I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to look at our page. Our goal means we can not only cover the cost of making the film, but any additional post-production and marketing for film festivals. Please, help take this project above and beyond by supporting independent filmmakers and bringing the arts to Central Louisiana. You can read more about the film below!
“Noble Silence”
After a discussion on the porch over and cups of black coffee, a middle-aged, deeply Southern couple - Daniel & Kristy - resolve to start prioritizing healthier choices as they get older. While attending a one-day guided meditation retreat, they are asked to practice “noble silence” - purposely abstaining from speech to cultivate mindfulness. As the group leaves the retreat center for a contemplative (aka SILENT) walk through the woods, Dan realizes there is one big problem. He secretly packed a little surprise to help mellow him out, and now he can’t find his “doobie”!
Can this decades-long marriage handle its greatest challenge yet: gaining enlightenment and solving this Mary Jane mystery all without saying a word?
Director's Statement:
As a kid growing up in Louisiana, I was blessed to be surrounded by incredible art and artists. While my hometown provided an outlet for my passion for music and theatre, I often wished there were more opportunities for storytellers to reach new audiences - specifically through the medium of film. After attending Pineville High School's Magnet Arts program, I graduated from Western Carolina University's prestigious Musical Theatre program with a BFA, before studying at the University of Central Arkansas as a Bridges-Larson Fellow in Film Production. I am currently a full-time music educator and audition coach living in Seattle, WA. I am thrilled to be getting back to my roots and creating new art in the place where it all began.
Production Info:
Filming will take place in August 2025 in Central Louisiana.
Projected to enter the festival circuit Spring 2026.
