Bring Nightlife to Newton: Support Kai Thomas

My name is Kai Thomas. I am a new business owner on Newton's historical Main Street with big dreams for the near future. In August, I purchased a vacant, derelict property that hasn't been used in decades. It is my goal to breathe life into it's walls again, and lift Newton higher in the process. In its final form, the building will offer an immersive bar and lounge, art galleries, community events, and so much more. But we have a long journey ahead of us, and we need your help to get the space up and running again. If you want to see nightlife come to Newton, this is where it starts!

To get this building functioning again, it will need all new utilities, storefront, windows, flooring, and interior walls. It sounds like a lot, but the most important thing is the place has GOOD BONES. It is structurally sound, and just needs a facelift to get her back on track.

Our first steps are already in motion, as the City of Newton has just approved the design for the new storefront, as seen above, and construction will begin next month! My main focus now is to apply for grants to really set things in motion. The HEAL grant is a huge opportunity for historical buildings like this one, but there is a catch. While this building is eligible for up to $60,000 of funding, we must have proof of matching funds to claim it. This means we are working hard to raise another $60,000 from other sources. There is so much more to do, and we will appreciate anything you can give to help us reach our goal!
