Bring My Parents Back Home For Cancer Treatment

Hi, my name is Grace Hartke, here is our current situation as we deal with this life changing diganosis of Prostate Cancer in our family. To start off four years ago my parents retired and moved from there home here in South Bend of 30+ years, to Belize inn hopes of simply living quietly in their own small bit of paradise.

With no income other than their combined SSA, they still managed to set money aside for pop up emergencie like car troubles or a leaking faucet. They also had to save for any and all medical expecses, as health insurance in Belize is out of the question.

In June of this year, my dad, Dean Hartke was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer and in July, underwent surgery at a hospital in Mexico. With no insurance everything was paid in cash. And with all the meds and appoitments their savings has been completely wiped out.

He now needs several major tests done to see if or how far the cancer has spread. Along with the tests, follow up treatment and another possiable surgery. My parents now having no savings left cannot afford these expenses out of pocket, as these tests have to be done as soon as possiable.

After speaking with my parents and being heavily involved the whole way, I need to get my parents back here to Indiana, and back home with our family as soon as possible so he can seek treatment through the VA med center in Fort Wayne for the care, testing and follow up that with be needed through this process.

The funds that I am asking for help with are not for treatment, as my dad is a Viet Nam Vet and medical care will be covered by the VA. We desperately need help getting them moved back here and back on their feet, and most importantly get them back home to get the proper care that is needed.

Me as their only child and with three childern I raise on my own financially I have no savings either. My mother and father are all I have left, my parents have had my back and been there for me no matter what, throught some amazingly ruff times. My childern 16, 12, and 3. Admire and look up to their nanna and papa that them coming back home to be with us durring this hard time is all I could ever ask for, and would mean the world to us and so I can be there for their every need as they have been for me, This means the world and I would do anything to make this happen, but financially I need some help getting it done and quickly. His cancer rated a 10 on the aggression scale, so these tests are a must. To get the hardest but yet critcal questions answered, how long does my dad have left to live.

Please if you can find it in your heart and have anything to spare to help me bring my parents home, I would greatly appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.
