A residency at HB Studio has evolved into an opportunity for me to make a SAG/AFTRA documentary, and I am asking for help to bring it to life by October 20, 2026. https://www.hbstudio.org/about/residencies/

This project means a great deal to me personally. It has given me a deep sense of purpose, pushed me far outside my comfort zone, and inspired me to take a real leap of faith. I believe this documentary can do more than tell a story. It can show the power of live theatre to promote communication, understanding, forgiveness, and restoration within individuals and across a community.

A Mother’s Heart is the story about the relationships between two single-parent mothers and their sons. One son is an eighteen-year-old high school senior, and the other is a young NYC police officer. Their lives collide and are forever altered at a traffic stop that turns deadly. This story explores violence, death, consequences, forgiveness, and restorative justice.

The documentary is intended to help promote having A Mother’s Heart performed in schools and theaters around the country as a way to facilitate hard conversations about civil, social, and restorative justice. Just as importantly, I hope it can advocate for programs like To Protect Serve and Understand, which bring police officers together with people from the communities they serve to foster understanding and unity between them. https://www.irondale.org/tpsu

Your support will go directly toward the real production costs needed to make this documentary possible, including actors’ salaries, film crew salaries, film equipment rental, a stage manager, light design, sound design, editing, costumes, and set costs. We have a budget of $20,000. We've already raised $8,000. We need another $12,000 to take us over the goal.

If this vision speaks to you, I would be incredibly grateful for your support. Every donation helps me turn this opportunity at HB Studio into a finished documentary that has unlimited potential to open hearts, encourage dialogue, heal communities and bring people together.
