I’m reaching out to ask for your support in helping my dear friend Monique’s bring their lifelong dream to life: opening a warm, welcoming bookstore that serves as a community haven for readers.

Books have always been a cornerstone of MO’s life — not just for the love of reading, but for the power stories have to connect, heal, and inspire. She’s dreamed for years of opening a cozy, independent bookstore where people can gather, discover diverse voices, and feel at home. From local author readings to book clubs this space is meant to be more than just shelves of books — it’s a vision of community, creativity, and belonging.

Unfortunately, this dream has met more than its fair share of obstacles. She was informed today by the city she has no choice but to hold off - this has caused immense stress and heartache. She has tirelessly dedicated time and has poured so much and energy into transforming this cozy space into something magical for all to enjoy. She was just days away from her Grand Opening…

I created this Gofund Me for Monique and her business as it may help her recoup some of the money that she’s spent on getting this store kick started as she now is left with inventory and has no clear answer as to when or if she’ll be able to use the location.
