Help “Momma Can Cook” Save Her Food Truck and Get Back to Cooking!!
In the food industry, prepping for events can be very long and exhausting days. At the end of one of those days while prepping for the Blues and Jazz Festival, Momma stepped down from the
truck and the step stool flipped over. Down she went and her immediate reaction while falling was to extend her right hand to brace herself. But mostly it was to protect the delicious
Adodo Chicken in her left… Success! The chicken survived the traumatic fall, however, she was shocked and devastated when she felt her dominate right-hand snap upwards in the opposite
direction. Her wrist had completely shattered. As you can imagine this was a devastating and excruciating blow for Momma, to say the least.

Many of you know that we are a local food truck that has served up delicious grub since 2015. Momma and her daughter started out with a seven-foot push-cart. Within a year, with true grit
and determination, a twenty-six-foot food truck was fabricated. There were so many highlights along the way, including being featured several times in a local magazine, as well as the
Columbus dispatch. What truly mattered was being able to share her delicious creativity and to interact with her lovely guests, all while having her adult kiddos right alongside her.

Because of the setback with Momma’s wrist, the rest of the team honored all scheduled events. With great uncertainty, no new dates were penciled in. Mommas focus was to get through the
surgeries and physical therapy with the best possible outcome. This proved to not only be more difficult that she imagined, but much longer than anticipated as well. During this process and in
desperation, she listed rooms on Airbnb. She even had her delicious entrees waiting for her guests in their mini fridges. This helped, but certainly wasn’t enough to cover her financial
responsibilities. In addition, she used her ingenuity to create her own delicious vegan product line while renting a commercial kitchen. She approached numerous businesses and presented
her products. Even though she received great responses, it too needed time to come to fruition. She really tried to be creative and resourceful, but it just wasn’t enough. She seemed to fall
further behind.

Trying to keep a positive attitude while going through her home furnishings to downsize felt challenging to say the least. At this point she kept what made sense, what would fit in her storage unit and listed the rest on marketplace. A few items were taken to her daughter and Son-in-laws home to create a temporary cozy room for now. The marketplace money raised didn’t come close to what was needed to restore her business. Now in complete despair with no medical insurance and bills piling up along with everything else, Momma listed her food truck for sale. Her beautiful dream was slipping away and the thought of it belonging to someone else seemed like a hard pill to swallow!
Momma’s Food Truck means so much to her! Her zeal is to serve and share a little bit of happiness in every bite. It’s not just a business but her dream come true, a passion project and
a way for her to show love through food. We don’t want this journey to end, this is where you can help! She has the propensity to push on, but she needs your help! The funds will bring the food truck back to life and get her products launched!!!

Your contribution will help “Momma Can Cook” get back to serving the community, as well as create jobs and provide great experiences with delicious food. There’s equipment repairs and
updates that need to be done to the kitchen. Inspections, licensing and permits need to be acquired to ensure it will comply with all regulations and can be done safely and legally.
Her products need additional specs met for labeling and packaging. And of course ingredients and supplies to keep her menu fresh, delicious and ready to prepare.
Also having a website and having on-line presence.
Every dollar counts and brings us one step closer to our goal. Whether you can give a little or a lot, your support means the world to us. Even if you can’t donate, sharing our campaign with
your friends and family helps tremendously!
Why we need your help:
Running a food truck isn’t easy, and like many small businesses, we’ve faced our share of challenges. We’re raising funds to keep our dream alive and to bring our beloved comfort food
back to our community. Please help this wonderful and kindhearted woman continue to pursue her dream while sharing
her hard work through delicious food!
Also, the funds will bring the food truck back to life. Although the food truck was listed for sale, we can come together to essentially prevent the collapse of Momma’s true passion.
Winners Never Quit, and Quitters Never Win!!!...sometimes a bit of help is needed…
