Help Us Bring Michael Home to Rest
Losing someone you love is one of the hardest things a family can face. We are asking for help to bring my brother, Michael, home so he can be laid to rest with his grandmother in Tennessee.
Michael was the oldest of three children and truly a pillar of light in our family. He was loved by many and known for being a great brother, an amazing friend, and a hardworking man. Michael gave so much to others and never expected anything in return. If you knew him, you knew his kindness, his humor, and his strength.
In 2024, Michael’s life changed suddenly when he was hospitalized. Our family learned that due to severe blood clots in his legs, he had to undergo the devastating amputation of both legs. This also meant the end of his dream of working as a truck driver, something he had worked very hard for.
For the next two years, Michael lived in a nursing home. Even though it was not where he wanted to be, he never allowed his circumstances to break his spirit. Michael continued to be himself — bringing light to the people around him, making friends, and uplifting others in the nursing home during his recovery. His strength and positivity inspired everyone who met him.
In January 2026, Michael received wonderful news: he had been approved for an apartment that suited his needs. He was so excited to start living independently again. By February, he had moved into his new place. He proudly called family and friends to tell them he finally had his own space. He got some furniture, and our family helped him get groceries to help him settle in.
On February 14th, after we had sent him more groceries, Michael called our mother later that evening, saying he was heading to the hospital because he was feeling pain in his leg. His nurse assistant went with him. When he arrived, doctors told him he needed to prepare for surgery.
The next day, our mother received the heartbreaking call that Michael had fallen into a coma. Our family and friends prayed and held on to hope that he would recover.
Sadly, on March 6, 2026, we received the tragic news that my brother Michael had passed away at just 44 years old.
We are asking for help to bring Michael home and give him the proper burial he deserves. Our wish is to lay him to rest beside his grandmother.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will help our family during this incredibly difficult time. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping our family in your prayers.
Thank you for helping us honor Michael’s life and bring him home to rest.
