Michael was arrested by ICE during his USCIS I-130 interview. What should have been an important step for his family turned into a heartbreaking separation.

Michael's wife is pregnant, and their baby is due next month. Instead of spending these final weeks together and preparing to welcome their newborn, she is facing the last month of her pregnancy without her husband at home. The biggest hope is to bring Michael home so he can support his wife and be there for the birth of their child.

The community is doing everything it can to help. A private attorney has been helping, and AAU is also helping connect the family with an attorney from the Defender Association of Philadelphia. Donations will help cover legal expenses and the urgent family costs they are facing while Michael is detained.
