Bring Memaw Home

For the last two years, my Memaw, Judie, has lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma with my mother Jamie along with my sister Jaden. Jamie took Memaw in to care for her as she has gotten older and has needed someone to look after her. In December 2020, my Memaw's health took a decline. She was taken to the emergency room for what seemed like common cold/flu symptoms. A CT scan revealed her lungs were in trouble. After a few months of diagnostic testing, Memaw has been diagnosed with Stage 4 left lung Mucinous Adenocarcinoma (intrapulmonary metastases). This cancer is inoperable and unable to be treated with radiation. Memaw is able to do a round of chemotherapy as well as immunotherapy which is great news! But even with treatment, there is no cure. This treatment should allow her up to two more years and we believe those two years should be spent near her loved ones in Florida. 

Memaw is beginning chemotherapy in three weeks, which means that is their window to move back to Orlando, Florida. Financially, Jamie has been the sole supporter for Memaw and my sister during this time. In order to bring Memaw home, she has to finance breaking a lease, beginning a new lease (first/last/security), moving help, and a moving truck to take cross country. Being 900 miles from home, they will need food, a hotel stay, and gas. This is truly a lot for one person to handle financially. We are asking for any help you might be able to contribute to ease this transition and hard time on my family. We are very close knit, and want to be close to Memaw during this time to help with treatment.
