Maya is my beloved Chow Chow, and she is family to me. She is almost two years old, weighs about 72 pounds, and I cannot imagine leaving her behind. I have been unable to find stable employment in the United States and can no longer afford to continue living abroad, so I must return home to India. As difficult as this transition is, one thing is certain: Maya has to come with me.
Because Maya is a snub-nosed breed, bringing her safely from Dallas/Fort Worth to Hyderabad is much more complicated than a standard trip. Her journey requires special flight arrangements, professional handling, an airline-approved kennel, veterinary documentation, and customs clearance. She also needs to travel during the cooler winter months. Once summer temperatures rise, airlines or pet-transport providers may refuse to transport her for safety reasons, which means we have a limited window to get her home safely.
I received a professional estimate of $5,435 for Maya’s transport from Dallas/Fort Worth to Hyderabad, but that does not include several other required costs. Donations will help cover her travel kennel, veterinary exam, USDA-endorsed health certificate, transportation to and from the airports, and possible airfare changes, along with the relocation arrangements needed to bring her home.
I will share updates about Maya’s veterinary appointments, travel arrangements, expenses, and her journey home. Asking for help is not easy, but this cost is more than I can manage alone. Every donation, no matter the amount, will bring Maya one step closer to home. If you are able, please support Maya’s safe relocation or share this fundraiser with others who may care. Thank you for helping me keep my family together and bring Maya safely home to Hyderabad.
