We made it to Florida… but Maui didn’t make it home with us.
Before we even got to the airport, we spent days navigating an overwhelming amount of paperwork, veterinary requirements, and government approvals. We went through multiple veterinarians to make sure everything was done correctly, often running into delays and last-minute complications.
It was exhausting and incredibly stressful—but we did everything we could to make sure Maui could travel safely and legally with us.
In the final hours before our flight, we were hit with unexpected issues at the airport—his crate was almost rejected, and we had to literally break the wheels off at the last minute just to get him approved to fly. We were exhausted, overwhelmed, and doing everything we could to not leave him behind.
We refused to get on that plane without him.
We made it to Florida, but Maui was placed into mandatory quarantine. While he is safe and being cared for, he is not home with us—and that separation has been incredibly hard.
We have already spent over $1,000 just getting him here, and we’re so grateful we made it through that part. Now we’re facing the final hurdle: the remaining quarantine costs required to bring him home.
We’re trying to raise $3,500 as quickly as possible to cover the rest of his stay and be fully ready to bring him home the moment he’s cleared from quarantine.
Knowing this is taken care of means everything right now—we just want to be ready for the day we can finally bring him home.
Maui is not just a pet—he’s family. After everything we went through to get him here, we just want to make sure nothing stands in the way of bringing him home when that day comes.
If you feel moved to help, even a small amount truly makes a difference. Thank you for being part of this journey and helping us bring Maui home
