My Final Year of Teaching! Help me bring Math Fun!
Donation protected
Hello,
I have been a math teacher for 30 years!!! I would like to spend my final year teaching with all of the tools that have proven to prepare my students for their following year in math class.. I teach over 125 students a day. 5th grade math is such an important year for the basics of all math. It prepares the students for middle school and beyond. I love to find ways for ALL students to feel confident with math, no matter what skills they have when they come to me.
As a public school teacher, I am tied to teaching 5th grade content to all of my students. I realize, however, that many of my students come to me needing or already knowing what it takes to become successful with 5th grade math.
I have found from using it many years in my career that SUMDOG, an education math program, has brought excitement to my students. When they have time at the end of class, they love to practice skills on SUMDOG. They also actually look forward to the challenges assigned to them.
We always start the year with multiplication facts. The students absolutely love how they practice and earn points and rankings for mastering their facts, SOOOOOO important for 5th grade math content.
My district does not fund this program and our district is no longer allowed to ask for funds from families to purchase this program for each student. However, I love the excitement I see when they are eager to hop on their chrome books to practice math.
So, the cost of a year's subscription including all of my students is $600.00. It also allows me to give quick and short assessments that give immediate feedback on set skills. There are so many benefits of this program.
I have seen many teachers online posting for Amazon donation requests for their classroom. If you are willing to make a donation towards this program, you would make over 125 students and one teacher super happy!!!
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Help me go out with the best tools for students. :)
