Maryam is just one year old, and her mother is currently seven months pregnant with her unborn baby brother. Sadly, their father abandoned them four months ago without leaving any trace. Because of this, Maryam’s mother was unable to work full-time, as she had to juggle caring for Maryam while managing her pregnancy. Frequent emergency absences affected her income, leaving her paycheck insufficient. Eventually, they were unable to pay their rent and were evicted after two months.

Maryam welcomed the New Year homeless, spending the night in a subway with no money even to buy her milk. I am now raising funds to help Maryam and her mother travel back to the Philippines so they can be reunited with Maryam’s maternal relatives and find safety, care, and support.
