A Soldier’s Wish: Reunite with His Service Dog
Donation protected
I am writing on behalf of my dear friend, Marco, a retired veteran of the Italian Army’s elite Paratrooper Ranger Unit. In 2013, Marco was deployed to Afghanistan, serving in one of the most challenging and dangerous environments imaginable. Throughout his service and beyond, he has carried the weight of those experiences, including the lasting effects of PTSD.
During his transition back to civilian life, Marco’s loyal companion—a service dog named Ice—became a constant source of comfort, stability, and emotional support. Ice is more than a pet; he is a lifeline, a silent guardian who gave Marco the strength to face another day. providing the unconditional love and grounding presence that helped Marco face each day.
Tragically, due to circumstances beyond Marco’s control, he and Ice have been separated for the past three years. The absence has been profound—not just the loss of a friend, but the loss of a vital part of Marco’s support system. Reuniting them would not simply be an emotional victory; it would be a crucial step toward restoring Marco’s wellbeing and quality of life.
We are working to raise the necessary funds to bring Ice back to Marco. Any assistance that can be provided—whether financial contributions, logistical support, or outreach—would make a world of difference in making this reunion possible.
Marco has given his strength and courage in service to others, enduring the hardships of war in Afghanistan and the sacrifices required of an Alpine Paratrooper Ranger. This is our chance to give something truly meaningful back to him: the return of his trusted companion and brother-in-arms.
Thank you for your time, compassion, and contribution.
