Hello, my name is Maycon Mac-Dowell, and I am raising funds for a close friend of mine, Marcelo Santos Ribeiro.
Marcelo has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Even while facing this devastating illness and intense physical suffering, he continued to get up every day and go to work, doing everything he could to survive and remain strong.
During this extremely difficult period, Marcelo was stopped by U.S. Border Patrol and arrested for overstaying his visa. At the time, he was actively receiving chemotherapy treatment in the United States. Once he was detained, all cancer treatment was abruptly stopped. He has not received chemotherapy since his arrest, which is both shocking and life-threatening.
This morning 1/9/226, a judge set Marcelo’s bond at $50,000. Despite Marcelo having no criminal history, being a peaceful, hardworking individual, the judge stated that he initially considered granting no bond at all and only allowed bond because Marcelo has cancer. The bond amount was set so high that it effectively prevents his release.
Marcelo does not have $50,000. His family does not have $50,000. That is why I am asking for help.
I will be receiving the donations into my account. From there, $50,000 will be paid directly to his attorney, Andrew, to cover the bond and legal expenses. Any remaining funds will be transferred directly to Marcelo to help with medical care, living expenses, and support during this critical time.
Marcelo urgently needs to be released so he can resume his cancer treatment and have a real chance at survival. Every donation, share, and prayer means more than words can express.
Please help us bring Marcelo home before it’s too late.
Thank you sincerely for your compassion, support, and prayers.
