Hello Springfield Family, Friends, and Community Members!
My name is Ryan Skerchak and this past Fall I was hired as the Theatre Director at Springfield High School in Delaware County.
After a successful production of You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown this past November, Springfield Theatre Workshop has set its sites on our Spring Musical, Mamma Mia!, which will be presented in March 2025!
To make this musical everything that it can be and MORE, we've put together a campaign to try and fundraise as much monetary support as we possibly can to pay for a lovely set, awesome costumes, amazing props, etc... It has become one of my goals in the short time that I've been with STW to further build our yearly budget so we can offer these students a glimpse of what theatre is like out in the real world each time they step onstage. Art is a powerful source of self-expression, individuality, and happiness and I see that in these kids everyday that I work with them.
We casted our production a few weeks ago with rehearsals beginning January 6th. My hope is to have each student that was cast commit to raising between $300 and $400 within the month of January. With 30 students cast in our musical, that number could get up to $12,000 that we’re able to put into our set, costumes, props, lights, sound, orchestra, etc…
HOW TO DONATE:

- Notify the cast member you've donated on behalf of so they can keep track of their progress!
The fundraiser will end January 31st, 2025 with the total amount announced the following week. The top fundraisers will receive some awesome prizes donated by local theatres and community organizations! Mamma Mia! will open the following month and run from March 20th to March 23rd. Any money that is fundraised will go directly toward Mamma Mia! and any additional monetary support we receive will be put into the STW fund for the 25/26 school year!
The arts are CONSTANTLY in need of YOUR support, and it has become my goal with this production to show how much a community can rally around a high school theatre program to give it the chance it deserves!
