There will be a funeral for Lyla Jackson (21) in early January and I am trying to raise some funds to help bring her family home for the funeral. The family will need assistance with funeral expenses and travel expenses, for family members going to pick up Lyla in Calgary and immediate family coming from Vancouver for the funeral. If you are able to spare a few dollars, it would be deeply appreciated.
Here is a rough cost breakdown:
- $1975.04 - 4 return flights from Vancouver to Whitehorse.
- $1138.72 - 2 return flights to Calgary.
- $650 - Car rental for 1 week.
- $1500 - Food for funeral
- ~$2000 - $???? - Clan payments to workers (this is usually gathered from Clan members and other attendees during a collection at the ceremony. Folks who cannot make it to the ceremony in person, could send a message with a donation made here to put their donation towards that collection and I can put the cash in for you with your name)
TOTAL cost BEFORE Clan payments is $5263.76
Because this is coming right after the Holidays and budgets are tight, the high cost of flights (even discounted for Bereavement Rate), and missed work for those involved in travelling to and from Calgary and Vancouver, I am going to raise the fundraising amount to $5000.
