Support Luka’s Journey to a Kidney Transplant

Luka’s story: (Chapters 1-3)

4 fetal surgeries, 44 days on bed rest in the hospital, 183 days in the NICU (and counting), 2 very stressed, yet hopeful parents and 1 incredibly strong baby boy. At our 20 week anatomy scan, we were told that Luka had a minimal chance of survival. Doctors discovered that there was a blockage in his urinary tract, ultimately resulting in kidney failure for our sweet boy. We immediately began fighting for him, and now he is fighting for us. Luka has surprised all of his doctors and met NICU milestones each week. He will be on peritoneal dialysis until he receives a kidney transplant. There have been countless sleepless nights and tears, but we thank God every day that Luka is here with us. Dorian and I are forever grateful for our nurses, doctors, respiratory therapists, specialists, and pharmacists for helping heal our son and for getting him closer to discharge each day. We cannot wait to see what a bright light he will be to our world (Luka means light) when he is finally set free from these hospital walls. Luka Artur Jonuzaj, you are our greatest miracle, and biggest blessing. Please pray for our family, we hope to bring him home soon!
