After one of the most terrifying experiences of our lives, Lucca is finally home. I cannot put into words what it means to have my husband back beside me. But unfortunately, bringing him home was only the beginning of our fight.

 Lucca was unexpectedly detained by immigration after we returned to Honolulu from a trip to Kauaʻi. In a matter of minutes, he was taken away from me and placed in federal detention. His experience there was incredibly difficult and traumatic. Now that he is home, we are trying to heal from everything that happened while also fighting for the future we had only just begun building together.

 We are newly married. We have a home, our dog Scooby, jobs, dreams, and an entire life we want to build together. Lucca has no criminal record. We aren’t asking for anything extraordinary—we just want the chance to live our lives together as husband and wife without constantly being afraid that he could be taken away again.

 We are now facing overwhelming expenses from Lucca’s bond, immigration attorney fees, government filing fees, and the ongoing legal process. We simply cannot afford all of this on our own.

 Getting Lucca home was our first victory. Now we need help keeping him home.
