Our Luca is still missing.
On June 21, during a Father’s Day visit from San Francisco, we dropped Luca off for a one-night stay with a new dog sitter in Monterey because no one else was available. Within 10 minutes of drop-off, Luca ran away from the sitter’s unfenced yard. The sitter then chased after him, which only frightened him more. Ever since then, we have dropped nearly everything to bring Luca home.
It's been over 2 months, but we have never given up hope. We have posted 2K+ flyers all over Monterey County, went on news/radio/TV, walked the agricultural fields, hiked mountains, flew drones, 24/7 sleepless shifts, and many more.
Along the way, hundreds of volunteers, news reporters, drone operators, dog trackers, private investigators, police, and other kind people have stepped in to help -- many without even being asked. Almost all of them have covered their own costs, including gas, printing, and other major search-related expenses.
We have fronted all the payments for the past 2 months, but we've reached a point where costs are growing.
Funds will go solely toward helping cover our volunteers major out-of-pocket expenses and continued search expenses.
We are deeply grateful for everyone following Luca’s journey, and any contribution or support means a lot to us.
