Bring Louticia Terry Home for Healing and Recovery

My name is Louticia Terry, I was born with Cerebral Palsy, a disability that affects the fine motor skills. Up until 3 years ago I could walk without any assistance, I could go on hikes with my brother and do pretty much everything a “normal” person could do with some limitations but not nearly as much as now. Now I find myself using a walker more and more, falling down a lot which I very rarely did in the past. Currently I live alone, which can be a little frightening when you never know when you are going to fall next and no one around to help.

My right ankle has gotten bad from the way I have walked over the years. My ankle is now bone on bone, there is no cartilage between the bones as a result I can’t even get cortisone shots, the doctor hits bone every time he has tried, the shots have nowhere to go. I am in tremendous pain every day, it stays swollen all the time, I have taken pain medication and now the medication barely eases my pain.

The doctor said the only way to remedy the problem is to have surgery and fuse the bones together, then I will be able to walk like I used to and be on my own. I currently reside in California; to have the surgery I need to move back home to Kentucky where my daughter, parents and sister are so they can care for me as I recover surgery. I realize am asking for a lot of money, however I need to move all my belongings across country to Kentucky which is very costly.

My goal is to move home to Kentucky in May of this year.

I will admit I have done GoFundMes before, but each one was because there was a dire need to do so, I do not like asking for money, in this case I feel I have to and need to in order to get back to enjoying my life as I did in the past.
