Hi, my name is Alexa, and I'm raising money to pay vet bills for Lola's emergency care. While I am not her official owner, I hope to aid my mother in paying for Lola's vet bills as they present a severe financial burden, especially as I am the first in our family to start college this fall.
Some of you might know Lola personally, but for those who don't, she is a loving, playful, attentive, silly, and bug-eyed pug.
As of the end of this week (06/12), Lola received her first-ever grooming and for unknown reasons, she suffered a respiratory attack upon being picked up. Her tongue turned purple and then gray, and very quickly we realized she wasn't okay. Her breathing was labored, and while she remained strong until we arrived at emergency care, she isn't doing too well right now.
Upon arrival at the emergency clinic, we immediately incurred a walk-in cost of $2,000 and afterward incurred an additional cumulative $3,565.50 from medication, x-ray scans, the oxygen chamber, etc., because she had to stay overnight as she couldn't breathe on her own.
The vet diagnosed her with an inflammation of her laryngeal area and recommended surgery (estimated at $22,000), which we unfortunately declined due to financial constraints.
Lola is currently looking at an alternative temporary solution, being another day of hospitalization, which we were given an estimate of $2,375.40. All we can do now is pray that our furry baby gets better and that there are no additional bills.
Even a $5 donation will help my family ensure Lola receives the care she needs. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this page with friends and family!
Update: As of 6/13 at 8:20 pm, Lola was put to eternal rest. She was suffering and our family didn't want her to experience more pain. She will be missed very much, and has left a hollow in our hearts.
While our furry baby is no longer with us, her vet bills remain a heavy cost. Please continue to share and donate.
