Help Us Bring Linda to Life — A Raw, Haunting Short Film About Survival, Seduction, and Identity
Hi friends, film lovers, and fellow storytellers,
We’re raising $6,000 to bring Linda — a gritty, character-driven short film — to life.
Set in the dim corners of a strip club, Linda is a bruised character study of a woman grappling with identity, seduction, and survival in a world that demands constant performance. It’s a story that explores the thin, aching line between who we are and who we’re expected to be — especially when the lights go down.
This is a passion project — one born from the desire to tell stories that don’t flinch. Stories that hold up a mirror to the masks we wear, the traumas we bury, and the raw beauty of reclaiming our truth.
We’re a Houston-rooted team of independent filmmakers — actors, writers, producers, and directors — all coming together to bring this vision to life from the ground up. Everyone involved is pouring their time, talent, and heart into this film, and now we’re reaching out for your support to cover vital pre-production needs including:
• Lodging for cast and crew
• Food and craft services
• Wardrobe, props, and set design
• Equipment rentals for our 3-day shoot
Every dollar matters. We’ve already raised $3,500 dollars before creating this gofundme but since we’ve raised so much so quickly we’ve decided to bump up our goal! If we surpass our $6,000 goal, all additional funds will go directly to paying our cast and crew, many of whom are currently volunteering to help make Linda a reality.
Supporters who contribute $500 or more will receive Executive Producer credit in the film. We also welcome partnerships and promotional collaborations with local businesses and creators.
Meet the Team:
• Larissa Dali (Writer, Director, Actress) — Known for roles in A Gettysburg Christmas, Becky, and The Omicron Killer, Larissa creates work rooted in truth, sensuality, and transformation.
• Ian Haywood (Co-Director) — A visionary filmmaker behind Raised by Kanye and Deliveries from Eva.
• Lakisha R. Lemons (Executive Producer) — An award-winning filmmaker and journalist, recently nominated for a Texas Independent Film Award.
• Alvin J. Morris (Executive Producer) — Houston creative and producer with credits including Commuted and B.B. King: The Life of Riley.
If you believe in the power of story, if you’ve ever had to fight for your identity, if you want to help amplify female-led, independent film — we would be honored to have you be part of this journey.
Thank you for supporting art, truth, and raw, cinematic storytelling.
