Hello
I have been working with College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA) surgery residents and Busitema University medical students affiliated with Mbale Regional Referral Hospital, a public referral hospital in Eastern Uganda as a UCSF HEAL fellow. Given we work at a public hospital, we have limited resources for clinical care and education. Trauma resuscitation routinely happens unfortunately without an ultrasound. My goal is to raise funds to bring a butterfly ultrasound (https://www.butterflynetwork.com/) with me to Mbale to not only train residents, students, staff but to also be able to leave the equipment with them so that they can continue to learn and provide clinical care. We plan to utilize the PanAmerican Trauma Society Ultrasound in Emergency and Trauma Course as well as the butterfly drive that will allow us to continue to evaluate images captured and uploaded remotely.
Your support will be greatly appreciated by the residents, students, staff and patients in Mbale Uganda.
