Leonardo Reyes is my fiancé and a loving father to three sons, as well as a devoted bonus dad to my three boys. Since entering the country legally in 2023, Leo has done everything by the book—he’s worked hard full-time at his job for over a year, never broken the law, and has always strived to keep his status legal. He is the kind of person these immigration services were meant to help: honest, hardworking, and dedicated to building a better life for his family.
Recently, Leo’s world was turned upside down when, due to sudden changes in immigration policy and the revocation of his Temporary Protected Status (TPS), he was detained by ICE at his apartment. Despite having followed every rule and never even receiving a ticket, he was taken without warning, treated harshly, and separated from the family who loves him. Our children have already lost one father, and the thought of losing Leo too is heartbreaking. He has always put his family first, working tirelessly to provide, to stay on the right side of the law, and now he faces an uncertain future simply for doing things the right way. To be detained in a jail for doing every single thing ever asked of him by our Country is heartwrenching. This is not the way it was meant to be for him, us, or anyone following the process.
- We just received notice that his preliminary court date is set for December 23rd, and are seeking help to hire a very skilled immigration lawyer who understands the complexities of TPS and asylum cases, and to cover the costs of bond and legal fees so Leo can come home while we fight for his right to stay.
Your support means everything to us—especially to our kids, who just want their dad and bonus dad back home. By helping us, you’re standing up against injustice and shining a light in our moment of incredible uncertainty. Thank you for being part of our journey to bring Leo home, where he belongs. ✨
