Dear family, friends, and anyone we've not yet met: greetings and aloha. We're Chiaki and Marco Anich, a young couple living in Los Angeles and we are trying to raise funds to save our precious little pup, Leo.

Ever since we adopted him from a rescue shelter 6 years ago, Leo has been at the center of our little world. He's filled our lives with happy barks, wagging tails, and the incredible unconditional love that doggie parents come to know when opening up that front door. More than a best friend, Leo is our courageous little boy, our home guardian, our innocent light in the dark of an oft stressful and dreary world. He is the neighborhood kids' favorite dog to see on a walk, and he instantly brings a smile (or a wag) to everyone who crosses his path.

Now, at just 7 years old, Leo is courageously fighting for his life. The news has absolutely devastated us...we can't even fathom how our precious little bundle of joy-- the one thing bringing so much love to others, one who's such a light for the world around him--is now suffering immensely and struggling to survive!

According to several different doctors, he has developed an acute, aggressive form of kidney disease that has him in critical condition and in intensive care. Whereas just a week ago he was a happy, energetic little Jack Russell, he has in a matter of days become very sick and now, if he can't get the right treatment, we are fearing the worst; doctors are saying that his condition is life-threatening and are working around the clock to find a method of treating him so that he may come home.

To make matters even harder, the medical bills are starting to pile up. Between the various hospitals and treatments Leo's endured, we're beginning accumulate more debt than we can afford to keep him alive and identify the right treatment. As Chiaki is a student and I am the self-employed owner of a small, struggling business, we are nearing the end of our means in trying to save our little boy.

This is where we are asking for your help. Anything you contribute can make a huge difference in helping us sustain treatment to not only keep Leo alive, but to also find the proper treatment to ultimately bring him home where he belongs.

私たちの家族、友人、そしてまだお会いしたことのない皆様へ
ご無沙汰しています、もしくは初めまして。

現在、私たち夫婦はロサンゼルスに居住しており、大切な家族の一員である愛犬Leoの命を救うための募金ページを立ち上げました。 6年前に、Leoを保護犬施設から私たちの家族に迎え入れてから、彼はいつも私たちの小さな世界の中心にいる存在です。幸せな鳴き声や、嬉しい時に尻尾を振ったり、そして犬の飼い主なら誰もが知っている、帰宅して玄関のドアを開けた瞬間に溢れる無性の愛で、私たちの人生を満たしてくれました。

Leoは親友以上の存在であり、私たちの勇敢な小さな息子であり、我が家を守る番犬であり、ストレスや鬱に満ちた世界の中で無垢な光を与えてくれる存在です。

近所の子どもたちにとって、散歩中に会うのが一番楽しみな犬であり、彼と出会うすべての人に笑顔（あるいは尻尾のフリフリ）を届けてくれます。 今、まだ7歳という若さで、Leoは勇敢にも命を懸けた戦いに立ち向かっています。

複数の医師の診断によると、彼は急性で進行の早い腎臓病を発症しており、現在は重篤な状態で集中治療を受けています。

つい一週間までは元気いっぱいのジャックラッセルミックスだったのに、ほんの数日のうちに急激に体調が悪化し、今、適切な治療が受けられなければ最悪の事態も覚悟しなければならない状況です。

医師たちも「命に関わる状態だ」と言っており、彼が再び我が家に帰れるようにと、24時間体制で治療法の模索に尽力してくれています。

さらに辛いことに、医療費がどんどん膨れ上がってきています。

複数の病院での検査や治療が続く中、Leoを生かし、最適な治療法を見つけるために必要な費用が、私たちの手に負えないほどの借金として積み重なりつつあります。

私は学生で、夫は小さな苦戦中の自営業を営んでおり、私たちの愛する小さな息子を救おうとする中で、経済的な限界が近づいています。

ここで私たちは、皆様のお力をお借りしたいと考えています。

どんなに小さなご支援であっても、Leoの命をつなぎ、最終的に彼に適した治療法を見つけて、再び我が家に迎え入れるための大きな力になります。
