UPDATE #3:

Here is an update from Ben Goodwin, Lana’s husband:

UPDATE #2:

Through some prayers, we have decided to push the surgery back to January. This will give mom time to get in a better place physically and definitely financially (tons more expensive tests needed before and after surgery). We will update again once surgery has been completed. Thank you for going on this journey with us ❤️

With all of your help, we have raised all the funds and were able to schedule Mom’s brain surgery for early November! Thank you thank you thank you for your help. May God bless you all and your families!

Talofa/ Aloha Family and Friends,

Over the last 5 years my mother-in-law’s health has deteriorated drastically. She used to be a person who found pleasure in sharing meals with family and friends, paddling canoe, playing pickleball, going to the beach with her husband and sons, hanging out with her nieces and nephews, and serving her brothers and sisters at church.

She has 3 sons, Jude, Brock, and Zane, another daughter in law, Jess, and is the grandmother of my beautiful 3-year old daughter Teila and week-old son Manatua. Those of you who know her best, know that she is just a GOOD person with a big heart. Our family is extremely grateful for your love, friendship and prayers over the years. God has carried us and blessed us through you.

About a month ago, we discovered that she has a 5.6-centimeter (a little bigger than a golf ball) tumor in the pre-frontal cortex of her brain. This is the area that regulates mood and motivation and is the reason Lana has lost the desire to live life like she used to and has become withdrawn and isolated.

A week-ago my father-in-law met with a neurosurgeon who specializes in the removal of these types of tumors. He is very hopeful for her return to good health as he has seen drastic improvement in his patients’ quality of life that receive this surgery. To schedule my mother-in-law’s surgery, we have to pay up-front, so it is with great humility that we ask for help in restoring Lana to the wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, auntie and grandmother she used to be.
