Help us put Know Yourself into the hands of the people who need it most.

Every one of us is carrying a question.

For some, it shows up as a child who can't sit still in class. For others, it's an adult who returned home from prison with a résumé full of gaps and a heart full of doubt. For many of us, it's the quiet feeling, on an ordinary Tuesday, that we're living out of step with who we really are.

The question is simple: Who am I, and what am I here to do?

I've spent my career helping people answer it.

My name is Khalif Jackson. I'm a husband, a father, a son, a church leader, and an educator. I'm the Director of Student Services at Center School, where I serve students in grades 1 through 8 with learning differences. I'm the founder and CEO of Greyson Scholars, a nonprofit that helps returning citizens and young people in Montgomery County rebuild their lives through workforce development. And I hold a doctorate in Educational Leadership with a focus on Social Emotional Learning.

Through all of it, I've learned one truth: people don't change because someone tells them to. They change when they finally see themselves clearly.

That's why I wrote Know Your S.E.L.F.

Know Your S.E.L.F. turns my doctoral research into a practical guide for real life, at home, at work, and everywhere in between. It's built on four simple functions:

• S: See Yourself. Name what you feel before it names you.
• E: Even Yourself Out. Learn the difference between a reaction and a response.
• L: Look Outward. Lead with empathy, because everyone is fighting a battle you can't see.
• F: Follow Through. Insight without action is just entertainment.

The book closes with a section on purpose and identity, including an original archetype framework (Builder, Visionary, Champion, Trailblazer) that helps readers understand not just why they're here, but how they're wired to show up.

The book is written. I've already shared it with 8th graders at Center School, and I watched students who rarely speak up start naming their feelings, their strengths, and their goals. That moment confirmed what I've always believed: this isn't just a book. It's a foundation.

This is where SELPH-Centered begins.

Know Your S.E.L.F. is the cornerstone of SELPH-Centered, a growing mission that adds two more letters to the framework: P for Purpose and H for Human Connection. From this one book, we are building:

• Know Your S.E.L.F. for Schools: a curriculum for every age, from early education through high school
• A companion Reflection Journal and workbook so readers can put the lessons into daily practice
• SELPH-Centered Super Scholars: a program that helps children discover their strengths through a superhero archetype they can be proud of
• A companion app that gives every reader a personalized S.E.L.F. plan
• Workshops, speaking, and a podcast that bring these conversations into churches, schools, and workplaces

I hold a special place in my heart for children in foster care, young people who are too often told who they are by systems instead of being helped to discover it for themselves. My prayer is that every child who encounters this work comes away knowing three things: who they are, that they are loved, and that they have a God-given purpose.

My business is my ministry.

I made a decision early: 100% of SELPH-Centered proceeds go to support Greyson Scholars programs. Every book sold, every school partnership, every workshop feeds directly back into the work of restoring lives in our community.

I chose not to sell through big online retailers, because they take too large a share of what should go back to the people we serve. Instead, we print independently, hold our own inventory, and put the book directly into the hands of families, schools, and community partners. That choice keeps the mission whole, but it means we need your help to get started.

What your gift makes possible:

• Printing the first run of Know Your S.E.L.F. and the Reflection Journal
• Placing free copies in classrooms, reentry programs, and with youth in foster care
• Building the school curriculum so teachers can bring S.E.L.F. lessons into their classrooms
• Developing the companion app and Super Scholars program
• Our official launch event in Spring 2027, a celebration of everyone who helped make this real

You are not donating. You are serving.

When you give, you're not just funding a book. You're putting a mirror in someone's hands at the moment they need it most. You're helping a child see their gifts, a parent find their calm, and a returning citizen remember that his story isn't over.

At Greyson Scholars, our motto has always been "BElieve in YOURSELF." Today, I'm asking you to believe in this mission with me.

Give what you can. Share this page with someone who needs it. And when the book reaches your hands, I hope it helps you know your S.E.L.F. a little better too.

With gratitude and purpose,
Khalif Jackson, EdD
