Bring Juan Carlos Carrasco Back Home

Juan Carlos Carrasco is just like any other person. He goes to work every day, comes home to his wife and three kids, and offers kindness and warmth to anyone who crosses his path. On July 31st he prepared for a normal day of working to provide for his family when he was unrightfully detained and brought over an hour away with limited communication to his family. During this stressful time they ask that you can share his story and help in any way you can. Juan is a hardworking man, and more importantly he is a human being. Within these facilities (which can quickly become overcrowded) dozens can find themselves faced with discrimination and denied necessities such as water, even spending hours in limbo without reaching anyone outside. It’s a disgusting abuse of power over someone who is a neighbor, a friend, a coworker. When he was able to briefly call before the line disconnected, his family remarked that before sounding afraid he was excited more than anything to hear and speak to his wife.

Juan’s family ask that you share his story as much as possible and—if you are able to—donate to cover costs related to lawyer fees and the sudden displacement of a vital part of their family. His oldest daughter Fidelia remarks that she “wish[es] I could have hugged my dad once more or told him I love him just once more”. He is not some terrifying criminal or a threat to national security. He, like so many others affected by ICE, have lived in this country for years peacefully. Working hard to give their families better opportunities, chances, and a shot at the “American Dream”.
