Hi everyone,

My name is Ashley, and this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write. Many of you know my husband, Jeremy, has been in a long-term care facility in a vegetative state. Earlier today, he went into full code, and while they were able to stabilize him, he has now been transferred to TMC. They’ve confirmed he has pneumonia in both lungs, and we are waiting on more information from the medical team. I’m trying to stay strong while keeping life steady for our family.

I’m working one full-time job and two part-time jobs just to keep us afloat. I’m doing everything I can, but today everything hit at once. My car broke down, and I need it to get to all of my jobs. On top of that, rent is due in 3 days, and my next check won’t arrive in time to cover it. I also had to miss work today due to the emergency.

I’ve been pushing as hard as I can to handle everything on my own, but right now I’m overwhelmed. Christmas is coming up, and I want my kids to feel some kind of normalcy and joy this year. And anyone who knew Jeremy before his injury knows what the holidays meant to him — he bought Christmas for another family every single year. It was something he loved and something that truly showed the size of his heart. I want to keep that spirit alive for him, even now, even in the middle of all this.

I’m asking for help just to get us through this month — rent, fixing my transportation, and the essentials we need until I can get back on my feet. Anything helps, truly. Even sharing this helps.
