Hello, my name is Helena Nyman. I’m the wife, caregiver, and POA (Power Of Attorney) of my Darling Husband James - a Disabled Navy Veteran.

James has been on a long medical journey for the past 15 years, where he had to undergo numerous medical procedures, including triple bypass, kidney transplant, cranial surgery, ear surgery, lumbar fusion and laminectomy), and he suffered from a series of strokes.

Last Fall, a scam contractor pulled down our deck, one of the few places he could enjoy, since our parks in Louisa County aren’t wheelchair friendly. Due to James medical conditions there are limited public opportunities or facilities that can accommodate him.

We spoke with county officials, and there is no civil or criminal recourse available.

We have had limited interest and assistance from government and charitable organizations.

As we have limited means. This has forced us to pursue this avenue for funding. We have exhausted assistance from family members.

We want to rebuild the deck, since it is necessary for James to have a degree of time outside for his physical and mental health.
