Bring Joy and Relief to a Beautiful and Brave Warrior

Hello, everyone, and thank you for taking the time to read this.

My name is Michelle Arias, and I am a police officer in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. As part of my duties, I run my department's Santa Cop program. My department receives toy donations each year that benefit less fortunate and deserving children in my city. These less fortunate children are nominated by school counselors familiar with each school's needs. Once a school nominates a child, my department coordinates a special Christmas gift delivery to that child and their family before Christmas to help bring holiday cheer to their home.

This year, one of those nominees was Nairoby Espinoza, an eleven-year-old girl who is courageously battling cancer. Nairoby has a brain tumor and is currently undergoing intense chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Since her condition worsened recently, Nairoby was admitted to a hospital. As we would be unable to deliver her gifts to her home, I gladly delivered the gifts to her hospital room and had the pleasure of meeting Nairoby in person.

I was immediately taken aback by the strength and positivity radiating from Nairoby, even though she's recently been overwhelmed with side effects from her cancer treatments. Her amazing ability to brighten up that hospital room with her smile has inspired me beyond words and is something I'll never forget.

After helping Nairoby open some of her gifts, I asked her if there was something else she wished for that my police department or I could get her. She quietly said she'd always wished for a purple bicycle. I promised to have her purple bicycle ready when she felt well enough to take it for a ride.

Before leaving the hospital, I spoke to Nairoby's father, who is also Nairoby's sole caregiver. Nairoby's father expressed gratitude for the kindness shown to him and his daughter and stated he believes his prayers were answered as he was worried about not having Christmas gifts to give to Nairoby. Nairoby's father also informed me that he and Nairoby are currently homeless and have been renting a room at a friend's house. Nairoby's father is uncertain about his and Nairoby's future as he has recently been unable to work due to Nairoby's condition.

After taking the evening to process everything, I woke up the next day with a strong desire to do everything possible to ensure Nairoby and her father make it through, at least for the time being. I firmly believe that for Children of God, there are no coincidences and God allows us to cross paths with certain people during specific seasons to help each other out. Today, I ask YOU to help me help this beautiful and deserving family. As you can imagine, this family's emotional, physical, and financial toll is overwhelming. Your generosity will ease the financial burden and provide hope and strength to Nairoby and her father as they continue through this tough journey.

No contribution is too small, and every bit of kindness makes a difference. Thank you, and may God bless you!

With love,
Michelle Arias
